As Chief Executive Officer, Joe Kachelski has overall executive authority for the operations of WISHIN. When he joined WISHIN in 2010, Joe had 24 years of experience in the health care and health insurance industries. He previously held key positions at the Wisconsin Physicians Service (WPS) Insurance Corporation, Physicians Plus Insurance Corporation and the Wisconsin Association of Health Plans.

Most recently, Kachelski was the first executive for the WHA Information Center, a subsidiary of the Wisconsin Hospital Association, where he oversaw the privatization of hospital data collection and reporting functions. Under his leadership a groundbreaking hospital pricing-transparency web site, PricePoint, was developed and is now used in 11 additional states. In addition, he served as a member of the Wisconsin Health Insurance Risk-Sharing Plan (HIRSP) Board of Directors for ten years, the last as the Chairman of the Board. He is a 1984 graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a BA in Communication Arts.
